Music Class

Music as a vehicle for personal expression and joy.

A Vehicle for Personal Expression

Music Class offers children a joyful vehicle for personal expression. Through singing, rhythm, and movement, students develop their ears, their voices, and their confidence.

In a warm, encouraging environment, every child is invited to take part — discovering that making music together is as much about listening as it is about performing.

A Vehicle for Personal Expression

What Children Do

  • Sing, clap, and explore rhythm and melody
  • Discover instruments and the elements of music
  • Move and dance to develop coordination and beat
  • Perform together and celebrate cultural songs

These experiences build focus, memory, and teamwork — and a lasting appreciation for the arts.

What Children Do

Why Music Matters

Research consistently links early music education to stronger language, mathematical, and social-emotional development. In the Montessori tradition, music is woven into daily life — songs mark transitions, rhythm supports movement, and careful listening sharpens concentration.

More than skills, Music Class nurtures the whole child: the confidence to perform, the patience to practise, and the joy of creating something beautiful with others.

A Foundation for Life

From our youngest toddlers to our elementary students, music grows with the child. The early years focus on singing, rhythm, and joyful exploration; older students take on instruments, notation, and ensemble performance.

Music also connects our multi-faith community: students learn songs from many cultures and traditions, celebrating the diversity that makes KMSchool special.
